Ayodhya Ram Mandir: The Complete Darshan and Travel Guide

The grand inauguration of the Ram Mandir has firmly placed Ayodhya on the global spiritual map. Millions of devotees are traveling to the sacred city to witness the majestic architecture and seek the blessings of Ram Lalla. If you are planning a pilgrimage to Ayodhya, here is everything you need to know.

Darshan Timings and Temple Rules

The temple is managed meticulously to handle large crowds. The standard darshan timings are:

  • Morning: 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM
  • Afternoon: 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Important Rules: Mobile phones, electronic gadgets, leather items (belts, wallets), and outside food are strictly prohibited inside the main temple premises. Free high-security locker facilities are available near the entrance. Dress modestly—traditional Indian attire is highly recommended.

Beyond the Ram Mandir: Places to Visit

Ayodhya's spiritual essence extends far beyond the main temple. Ensure you visit these revered sites:

  • Hanuman Garhi: A massive fort-like temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. It is customary to visit here before visiting the Ram Mandir.
  • Kanak Bhawan: Often considered the most beautiful temple in Ayodhya, it was gifted to Goddess Sita by Kaikeyi.
  • Sarayu River (Ram Ki Paidi): A dip in the holy Sarayu river is believed to wash away sins. Do not miss the spectacular evening Aarti at the ghats, which beautifully illuminates the waterfront.
